About Us

The History of Murder Podcast is researched, written, and produced by me – Julia. I am a Canadian lawyer who holds both a civil law (BCL) and a common law degree (JD), as well as an undergraduate degree in history. I am fascinated by the development of the common law and enjoy exploring how an essentially conservative and historical legal system is always shifting and changing. I particularly love the 17th century and the early-modern period.

I am not a professional legal historian or podcaster, so I greatly value all feedback on the History of Murder Podcast! Please reach out by clicking here if you have any comments, corrections, or questions to share with me.

Pictured below is Winnie – my most loyal and disruptive listener. The bulk of the editing process consists in removing her commentary.
